Hello again, came across a place, we could rent with an option to buy, I don't know this area...any help would be greatly appreciated, I understand you can DM me on this one, it is Willow Wood Village, I think I saw a condo fee of $65 could be wrong..we get along with all ages but still wonder even if active retirees if we would fit in ) thanks in advance for your help, Kevin

I live fairly close, although Willow Wood is further away from downtown Dunedin than I am. It looks like a community of linked bungalows.

I'm surprised it isn't 55+, but it doesn't seem to be.

If I were you, I'd go to Zillow.com or some other real estate website, and do some searches.

And remember, you get what you pay for with a HOA--the question is, what does the HOA fee cover?

Make sure you get a real estate attorney to review any lease-to-purchase agreement. Maybe things have changed, but they are usually not beneficial to the buyer. Maybe in a slow economy it's different, but you are asking someone to take a property off the market, so there is usually some clause that states you need to leave a deposit and it won't be returned if you choose not to purchase. I'm not sure, but check it out carefully before you sign on the dotted line. Good luck!

Thanks very good advice, ok I'm letting go lease to buy option...yep you're right too risky...and good point .." You get what you pay for" as I looked closer to Willow wood had addtional concerns , We'd prefer a 55 + community and place we could then hang out with younger people...just kidding..no not really...lol

I am planning to sell my 2007 manufactured home as soon as I can or otherwise rent for 6 months prior to selling. It is in a 55+ gated community about 5 miles west of Dunedin. Very close to mall, groceries and eateries. Lots to do.
