There are some sketchy areas in Clearwater around downtown, but the whole city is not bad. IMO, the Countryside area (along Highway 611) is really very nice. It's located due south of Palm Harbor. I think it's worth a look. Please write back here and tell us what you decided to do.

I've been in Palm Harbor since last July and in Clearwater since Last November. Where are these creepy people and why is it not a safe place for kids? I've had none of these 'odd' experiences as of yet, the people here are mostly older and just mind their own businesses on their bike or out for a walk.

tlcha - could you give me more insight into Trinity? We are contemplating that area. I used to live in NPR, but Trinity is a little nicer (as I recall) and somewhat closer to Tampa.

Oh boy, are they ever! Always black pants or skirt, white shirts, black briefcases of satchels. Walking purposively but kind of like robots--reminds me of the Matrix.

They're right downtown, around Fort Harrison and Cleveland.

Countryside did look nice, when we looked at it last year. Don't know about schools. Decided against it because we wanted to be closer to Dunedin and the water, but then we don't have kids to think about (retired.) Also it's closer to Tampa, if you have to commute.

We're moving from CT and hubby's office is in Palm Harbor. We've been kinda directed to Westchase, Trinity, and Lutz. But, I can't wait to visit "real beaches!"
