Let's give the general sense to others. This will give an idea for those who want to relocate and we keep advising them "the commute will kill you "

Mine:

Distance 14 to 15 miles depending on the route I take.
Time 30 to 40 minutes (including rush hours)

At this time I do not have a commute. However, my old commute from Ehrlich & Dale Mabry area to Rocky Point Island via Ehrlich and Veterans was about 40 minutes in the morning (arrive by 8am) and coming back on the Veterans (5pm) was about 25 - 30 minutes. Roughly 15 miles each way.

Citrus Park to Macdill AFB. About 19miles. 30 mins in the afternoon heading to base, 25 coming back.

That includes the 5 or 6 minutes spent navigating through the base itself.

Hooray for odd hours.

I work from home. No commute.

My husband's is 10 minutes now, but a couple years ago he took 275 and/or 19 from near downtown St. Pete to Largo and it was 40 in the morning, but an hour or longer after work.

The northern end of Seminole Heights (Tampa) to downtown (roughly 5 miles), maybe 10-15 minutes doorstep-to-doorstep via I-275 in the morning. I tend to avoid I-275 on the return trip, depending what time I leave work.

I moved here six months ago. I did not think it would be a big deal to travel from my home in St. Pete, approximately 11 or 12 miles to Largo for my daughter's school, then about 5 miles back over to Seminole for my job.

How naïve I was! I am on the road for at least two hours each day doing this commute (Home to school to work, then back to school and back home). Our realtor warned us it is difficult to travel west, and she was not kidding. There is just no good way to get there. I am now eligible to work at home so I will start that soon. And we will be moving my daughter to a closer school next year.

That is the story of my commute and the efforts I have taken to eliminate it. I am somewhat biased because I had very little commute before moving here. But my advice is to live close to work or the places you need to be on a regular basis!

Citrus Park to downtown, 30-40 minutes depending on how I hit the traffic lights to, 30 minutes from. I do not take the veterans. It's also about 5-10 minutes faster when school is out.

Citrus park to south tampa.. To be in the area by 8 I have to leave by 7:15.. If I get out right at 5pm I can make it home it about 35-40 minutes. If I can go early or late and miss traffic, it turns to about 20 minutes each way

I work in the Carillon park off of Roosevelt, which is the St. Pete side of the Howard Franklin (I-275 bridge). I can get just about anywhere in Pinellas in 30 minutes. I've lived in the Old NE, Snell Isle, and Pasadena which is the other side of the peninsula, and my commute seems to always be exactly 30 minutes. I can get to S. Tampa via the Gandy in about 40 minutes, depending on traffic.

South Tampa (a little north of Gandy)

to

around Hwy 60 & 301

I'd say it takes me 20 minutes if I take Henderson > Dale Mabry > I-4...around 15 minutes if I take the Crosstown...and then around 25-30 minutes if I go Bayshore through downtown. I like to change it up...plus the scenery is pretty nice between 6am-9am during the week on Bayshore.
