Aww, that must have been great to see!! Do you have any photos?

Once I'm down there, I'm going to look into their volunteer programs. Seems to me they're worthy of getting whatever help they can get.

Been here several times. It's fun! Lots of animals, a few little rides, water play area. Very enjoyable especially with younger children. It's right off the highway; someone mentioned "bad area of town" but it didn't feel that way since it's so close to the exit, and if it's a bad area I've never noticed.

Specifically remember enjoying the outback area with kangaroos, dingoes (prarie dogs that sit in trees!), manatees. The food was pretty good there too.

If you drive around the area it seems a bit rough around the edges. I wouldn't want to live there, but we didn't feel unsafe driving around. We were looking for a place to eat before going into the zoo and had a really hard time finding anything in the area.
