We are planning on coming to the Tampa area next summer to start researching where we want to move upon my husbands retirement....We are looking to rent a place for at least a month and will be vacationing for part of the trip. We would like it to be close to decent beaches. Any ideas of where to look to find a nice, clean place, in a good location/decent price? Thanks!

I would suggest trying to see about renting a time share by the Water. It may be costly, but it would be fully furnished and have everything you need for the month. Redweek is a company that specializes in Timeshares. I would try them out and see if you find something.
Depending on your situation, that would drive my recommendation on areas. Could you tell us what you would be looking for? Some retirees want to live on a golf course, some want to be able to walk to places to eat or for coffee, some want to live away from the crowded city, etc...

What is your targeted price range for mortgage, insurance, taxes, fees, etc...

Do you want a CONDO, Single Family Home, Mobile Home, etc...

When we re-locate, we will have a 13 yr old son. Here is what I would consider important factors:
Decent Middle School & High Schools
Less than 30 minute drive or so to Good Beaches/Airport/City Life
Nice community feel ( We don't want to necessarily live IN the City, but not sure )
Single Family Home-at least 3 BR's with a Pool-would consider a community Pool
Safe area
prob. 250-300K range

Thanks for responding!
