Hi,
We are planning to move to Tampa area and I was wondering if you can advise on any good companies to work for? I am an accountant and my hubby is owner operator (local only). And how difficult is it to get jobs in Tampa are?
Thanks!

I think the job market is getting better in Tampa. Unemployment rate is 9.3%, much better than the 11% there a couple of years ago. There are finance companies based there, Raymond James Financial comes to mind. Good luck!

Raymond James comes to mind as does USAA, GEICO, and Federal jobs posted on USA.JOBS.GOV and the local governments. I was looking for someone the other day and couldn't believe how many jobs Pasco County had. Even the Sherriffs Deparment had jobs.
I would think as an Accountant, should be able to secure something. As far as owner operator, there have been a few posts on the trucker boards. The other day on indeed.com I saw the Lowes had something available. RoadMaster Truck Driving School is here in Tampa right by the fairgrounds. They may be a source for job openings or even teaching.

I am 55 yrs. old and considering moving to the Tampa area. I currently have a small cleaning company and am a recent BSW graduate. Any ideas about where to relocate? I have 2 dogs and a minimum income. I am looking for a reasonably priced place to live that offers a dog friendly community with job opportunities as well as a safe place to live.
