Hello all!
So, I've been browsing this site for the past couple months and have finally decided to register and reach out on my own after reading dozensss of posts. (All very informative, by the way) I just thought it would be easier if I explain MY situation and what I am looking for.

Here is my story:

I am a 27 year old young professional (sales manager) and looking to make a new start in a different state in one of my favorite places, Florida! I live in Virginia Beach/Norfolk area in Virginia now and have been contemplating on moving to FL for about 4+ years now. I have recently built the courage to apply for a transfer/different position with the my current job in the Tampa/Clearwater area. Currently, the position that I am going for is in Tampa, which I have been to about 3 times the last two years. I have dreamed of moving to Clearwater since I was about 21 years old and have traveled there the past 4 years for my Birthday (just recently came back to VA on May 18th) I am a beach baby and love being close to the beach, but also love the downtown feeling where I can walk to a bar, go eat, shop, listen to live music, dance, meet singles, whatever have you.. I currently live in a downtown area and am above many local shops and different nightlife scenes.. so this tells you the type of area i'd be ok with (but safe) <- I understand all areas have outskirts of areas that are not safe.. i play it smart of where to go and not to go.. but need help!

There is no guarantee that I will get the position, but if I do i need to start looking now on an apartment complex that I would want to move to, still be close to work (20 minutes or less) and have the young professional atmosphere that i am looking for. If i don't get it.. I will continue to look for openings and they may be in tampa/st pete/or clearwater..

I will say when I was there recently, i stayed in clearwater beach.. where i usually go. This past time I only traveled to tampa once to go to ybor city, but it was late at night so i did not get to sight see as much as i wanted to. I've heard ST pete is a good area to live, but how far is that from tampa? I have done research, so please don't ask me to do that.., everything from google, to visiting (even though i should have mapped out more) to looking through countless posts on here. Hopefully, from reading this you know a little more about me and what I am looking for. As far as apartment size.. I am looking for a 1BR nothing smaller than 820 SQF, would prefer modern feel, but not required. I forgot price, I'd prefer no more than $1250 a month if possible!

I truly hope someone can provide me some guidance, and THANK YOU in advance! I truly love your state and area and hoping to make a move there soon!

Perhaps you might start by elaborating why the word UGH ! is in your thread title.
It makes it sound like you already don't like the places you're thinking about moving too.

Wow, really? Sorry, it was how I was feeling at the time and it in no way implies that I don't like the area.. see end of post where i say how much i love it.. Its just overwhelming really trying to find the right place I want to call "home" without the luxury of being able to travel there for a week to feel it out, time does not allow that.

Thanks for the help! or lack of
