My girlfriend and I are heading down to Tampa/St. Pete area for a few days next week. We have checked all the touristy sites but we're looking for some local advice on what to do/where to eat&drink/what to see. We'll be in a hotel in Downtown Tampa for the first 2 days, then winging the arrangements from there for the next 3 days. Any and all advice is appreciated. Mid to late 20's and love being outdoors/meeting people/trying different things. Thanks!

Here are few places I would recommend to suit your needs, assuming you have a vehicle to get you there.

1. (Trying New Things) Tarpon Springs Sponge Docks - Great Greek community with shops and authentic food!
2. (Outdoors) Brooker Creek Nature Preserve - Beautiful hiking trails, informative nature center and the rocking chair rooms are so peaceful.
3. (Eat/Drink) Lucky Dill - New York style deli with amazing food, great music and fun atmosphere.

Have a great time.

If you are heading that way and like the beach go to Honeymoon Island park.

Honeymoon island is beautiful, definitely go there. Also, watch out for any zombies. :-)
