I'm doing some research for my cousin who will be taking a job in Brooksville.

She is looking for some location suggestions where she can rent a Single Family Home that's no more than 30-40 minutes away from Brooksville.

She is single and in her early 30's and would like to be as close to "civilization" as possible An easy drive to the Tampa area on weekends is also a desire... and she will probably visit us in Orlando every now and then.

She would like to be located in a safe "above average" neigborhood.... gated if possible.

Schools are not a factor.

Can anyone suggest some specific neighborhoods/developments that she should consider?

Some of her quick online searches resulted in the following streets:
  • Templewood court, spring hill, FL (10 min drive)
  • Danburry Lane, Hudson, FL (21 min drive)
  • ashbury drive, Hudson, FL (22 min drive)
  • creedmoor Lane, New Port Richey, FL 34654 (31 min drive)
  • eclipse court, new port richey, FL (38 min drive)
Are those areas worth considering?

Thank you!

To save a bit of driving time to Brookesville everyday i'd keep the southern boundary of the search at Springhill which still leaves plenty of options.
Personally i like some of the areas in SpringHill particularly some of the areas away from US19 and Springhill blvd.

Stay away from Hudson and New Port Richey. Much of those areas are ghetto. There are some decent gated communities in Spring Hill she would probably like.

If you want a wall around your community and a guard at each of the entrances give Timber Pines a check out, Its a mile or so north of the entrance to Springhill,
Houses are nice and has an 18 hole golf course in the middle, great for morning walks..

You obviously do not know what a real ghetto is.

OP, there are good and bad areas in Port Richey and Hudson. In Hudson up off Hudson Ave from US 19 over to just past Little Road are quite a few nice communities.

As far as the drive, where exactly will she be working. Brooksville the city or Brooksville the unincorporated area within Hernando County. This could cover a wide area and give more or less choice as far as being within 30 minute drive.

He said she was early 30's so a 55+ community would be out.

I don't think you would know what a ghetto looks like.

Lutz or Land O Lake.

The action is in south not north, so she will be close to Tampa than any of the places you mentioned. It is 30 to 35minutes. You are focusing on the west, look at the east too.

You can also do southern pasco/northern Hillsborough counties. From my house next to citrus park mall it takes me 35 minutes to get to my grandmothers who is off of sr50 in brooksville via the sun coast expressway and is close to civilization too

I second Lutz or Land O Lakes. Stay south of Brooksville if possible. The more North you go the more Country Bumpkin you get.
