It's crunch time and we have no choice! Hubby is coming down on Thursday to try and wrap up our house-hunting saga. It's proven to be all but impossible to do from 2000 miles away.

Please keep your eyes open for newer 4/3/2or3 homes in your areas if you live in Trinity, Longleaf, Odessa, NW Lutz or SW LOL (or other areas with good highway access to the west coast cities) and send them my way. Great neighborhood, great school, pool is optional, fence is needed for toddlers and 2 weiner dogs. Under $2100. I'll be compiling a list of places for him to see over the next couple days. I won't be going with him so I have to do as much of my homework ahead of time as possible. Yep, there's the control freak in me rearing its ugly head.

Thanks as always for your advice and help!

Sorry that one we took a look at didn't work out for you!

GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR SEARCH.

If your hubby runs into issues getting into places have him give me call and I will help if I am available.

Thanks! We decided there were just too many things we didn't care for about that other home. Plus, we have a friend locally who warned us about that listing agency being hard to work with.

I'll let him know he can get in touch with you while he's there. I'm curious, are there generally lock boxes on homes for rent (like there are on sales) that realtors have access to? Or do you have to make appointments with each listing agent?

I haven't been to very many, I really haven't had many requests for rentals. I would think that they would probably all have lock boxes. It makes it so much easier if someone wants to show the house as they key is right there. Otherwise, it could be at a property management office 15 miles away. Plus whoever lists the house wants to see who is going in there in case thier are issues.

I contacted a listing agent to get the lock box combo. The Client decided against seeing it, so we never went. The listing Agent called in the early evening to ask when I was there, how the house was, etc... I answered and asked why he was calling (normally you do an online survey). Turns out, someone had kicked the door in and they were trying to find out when it happened.

So you never know. Good that your husband is coming down. SO MUCH EASIER TO SEE THINGS THEN TRY TO EXPLAIN!!

Good luck to you guys. My husband flew down by himself as well. Managing the logistics of us both going was just too difficult.

Crossing my fingers he finds something!

I hear ya! There's literally no weekend we're both available not to mention having to arrange care for the kids and pets. I know he's as nervous about finding something for us as I am about sending him to do it alone.
