Is there any kind of rock scene in Tampa or the surrounding cities? Rock bars, concerts etc? Miami seems to be lacking this completely.. I don't mean classic rock or jazz clubs, more like hard rock, punk rock..

Small scene, not prominent. A couple clubs still have rock bands. Masquerades in Ybor, Skippers in North Tampa, and Jannus landing in Downtown St Pete are a few that used to have rock. I haven't been out there though in a while, so these venues may have changed.

There's also the Castle and the Orpheum in Ybor (along with others) as well as the Ritz in Ybor for a concert venue.

Rock is dead unfortunately. Kids listen to stupid music now. All the good rockers got old and OD'ed or just gave up.

House of Blues in Orlando get great rock acts in a small venue often. I'm seeing The Cult there this weekend. If that's your definition of rock...
