Home insurance policies in Florida have castastrophic sinkhole coverage.

It sounds like this home would surely qualify.

Then why is the title of the original post on this forum " Beacon Woods, Sinkhole Paradise"?

Not my fault, fault to the original poster!

HI I am thinking of buying a home in Hernando or Pasco County. Can you be so kind as to tell me which areas to avoid due to flooding. The house will be vacant for a year and I won't be able to put up sand bags.

My area never floods on the gulf. Even with 11" of rain in 7 hours my house was fine. Tons of empty homes for under 70k in my hood as many have been empty since 2008. House next to me could be bought for 30k for 2000 sq ft.

Anything west of SR 19 should be avoided.

Otherwise, sinkholes are your next worry.

Really never see any real sink holes west of US19. It is the crime i would worry about and insane flood Ins cost. 5k and up a year to insure a house worth 70k or less.

Anything west of SR 19 is prone to flood, bud. Sinkholes would be the least of my worries there, jer.
