Hi,
I'll be be moving to the Tampa Bay area this summer. My job will be right off of ML King Blvd in Brandon. I have a 14 year old son who will be starting high school in the fall. It's very important to me that he attends a very good public high school, and so I'd have to rent somewhere in that school district. My budget is not very high, $1,200/$1,300/month and I wouldn't like something less than what I've been used to so far. I also have a small dog. South Tampa is out of my reach altogether... I don't mind living in another area than those I mentioned altogether, as long as the school is GOOD.

So, first off... what public high schools have a great reputation in that general area?
Secondly... do you have any recommendations regarding any 3Bed/2bath apartments in that area? (I also have an older daughter, and 3 beds is a must)

Thank you all so much, making such a decision has proven to be a daunting task!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Of the areas listed I would choose Riverview, as in Riverview HS.

That being said, have you considered the Choice or Magnet programs? That might allow you to send your child to a "better" school than the one your residence might feed into.

I am not familiar with those programs. Would they provide bus service?... Without it, it would not help...
Thank you for your suggestion!

Choice would not, magnet would.

Take a look on the school district's web site under "magnet schools":

Hillsborough County Public Schools
