New to Tampa. Where are the best places to go for 4th of July fireworks displays?

Thanks!

Tampa pretty much the only place that does fireworks is Channelside. Not that great.

I prefer the beaches for fireworks. Madeira Beach or Reddington Beach you can see fireworks displays up and down the beach, each little beach town has its own display.

You know....with as much water around they could bring some barges, and have a huge show over water...like they have in NY....so more ppl, from more parks/areas/beaches can watch without stepping all over each other, it would be AWESOME! matter of fact, if I was mayor, I would put out the best fireworks show in all of Florida. For both 4th of July and New Year's.

It sucks at Channelside because its always too crowded...we never go, and end up watching the one's in NY instead, and frankly, it sucks because I would love to take the kids to see something special.

They used to do that. Back before Channelside existed, they would have a barge off of bayshore and shoot fireworks off there. They would shut down bayshore and let people park/walk up and down bayshore.

They also used to do it for Memorial Day, called it boomsday or something like that

I thought they used to do something like that. I was too little to know where we were but I remember sitting on the grass watching the display coming over the water.
