I have a Columbia fishing polo I like to wear, it is white but has UV protection.

I have a friend who plays regularly and it seems fine. As others have said, the gulf keeps things cooler here than you would expect. For instance in Tampa it never gets up to 100 degrees or above.

As for playing at night, that probably wouldn't work out anyway since there are afternoon thunderstorms nearly every day here in the summer, so mornings would be your best bet.

I've lived in Florida pretty much my whole life so heat/humidity isn't much of an issue, but I do try to avoid playing between 11am-4pm in summertime. If you aren't used to the weather here you may have to adjust your schedule and try to hit the courts before 10am or after 6pm. Or you could play on clay where the court surface doesn't get as hot as hard courts. Another thing to note is in summer it rains here pretty much every damn day in the late afternoon (and the showers here and there) so the scheduling gets tricky.

Let me know when you get here... it's always great to meet fellow tennis players.

My favorite time to play is 9:00 to 11 a.m. So hopefully rain would not interfere as often as if I played later in the day.
