My MIL is coming to visit on the 28th. This tropical storm/hurricane could make things interesting.

I'm sure it will miss Florida though. These storms never go right down the middle of the projected path when they are this far out.
Sometimes just the outer bands that can be 400-500 miles away from the storm center do enough damage - doesn't take much to flood the streets of Tampa, STP - causing havoc.

Maybe the heavy rain will keep the crazy fringe groups home (I don't really think so)!

Local law enforcement has experienced help, folks who been to Katrina and Haiti's earthquake for example besides other political events and summits. SO no worries in that dept, if you gonna worry- Isaac, could be very bad news, folks be OK, but the BAY area--- hmmm- personally from being in 6 hurricanes, if one ever hit- would equal to BIG and long time problems here. Just afternoon storms flood the place, the trees are wrapped about all the electricity wires, just be a mess. Wilma was a Cat 2 and damaged 16,000 roofs in Broward county alone. In Sunrise the roofs caved in making condos unsafe to live in all the way down to the first floor, the surge damaged buildings at the base causing corrosion so also people had to stay out of them. not nice folks..
