Because after reading this article, and seeing how much money these scumbag lawyers are making off of fraudulent accident claims, I am DYING to serve on a jury in a personal injury trial.

I had Jury Duty two months ago. A letter arrived in the mail and told me where to report. I did my service and now won't get called for at least a year.

In my state, people are called from those who have a driver's license, unless, they are too young. I think it used to be possible jurors were called from those who pay ad valorum taxes.

I'm probably due - have lived here since 2009 without being called.

Defenses wouldn't want to see me coming - unless it was a civil trial like Brad Culpepper brings - those shysters.

Hi. I'm pretty sure the other posters are correct: Jurors are culled from voter records, probably homeowners, etc., as well. But you might be the kind of person who is excused after examination since you have a bias!!!

I have always registered to vote and I have never been called anywhere I have lived and I am so frustrated by this. I am going to call the jury service office at the courthouse tomorrow and ask to be called.

Now having read that article, I would just LOVE to crucify these people lying about injuries in fake car accidents and making these scumbag lawyers rich. Not everyone who has a bias gets kicked off a jury. If that were the case, no one would ever serve in a jury, because everyone has a bias about SOMETHING that could potentially influence a case!!!!!

Can people just volunteer? I just got done Jury Duty 2 weeks ago and as others have said, received a letter in the mail in late November. I am not a registered voter, not a homeowner and have only been a resident of Tampa and Hillsborough for a little over a year, the only thing I have is a FL DL.

That being said, you can't pick your case you wish to sit on, it's randomly chosen. And you could end up with a double murder case with death penalty like I did and could be a 3 week trial or some random civil case.
