I recently accepted a position with a medical device company in the Tampa Bay area. I am a single 28 yr old male from Atlanta. I will be calling on hospitals from St. Pete all of the way down to Sarasota. I am looking for a young, single area with lots to do but easy access to my territory. I know very little about the area so any help will be much appreciated! Thoughts on where to start looking? Looking to rent for now.

I would look at downtown St. Pete (I don't know your budget however). Downtown St. Pete is very nice and has decent nightlife. If that's too expensive, northeast St. Pete is desirable, though the more you get away from downtown, the less young people you'll find. In general, stay away from St. Pete south of downtown.

I don't know St. Pete as well as Tampa so maybe some others can chime in.

South Tampa if you can afford it, followed by downtown St. Pete. Tampa has a larger young population.

Cool St Pete & South Tampa

It depends on what kind of lifestyle you enjoy....South Tampa is designer jeans & Gucci's, top 40's rap & SUV's.
On the other hand, St Pete is khaki's & kinos (flip flops), alternative jam's & beachcruiser's (bike's).

Here's one of St Pete's best best Venue's to check out music & the peep's.

Let me know if you need any more info on St Pete (rentals).
