Hi All.
I am sure you have heard this a million times.
I have a possible job opportunity in the downtown Tampa area.

I would like to know where the closest, safest, good schools & family oriented area is to Downtown Tampa I4.
No nightlife, quiet, safe, good schools is major. Commute is 2nd priority.
I have a wife of 22 years & a 13 year old son which mean the world to me.
Homes for 150k-170k range would be great.

Thanks to all.

From downtown Tampa at that price range, I recommend you start with looking at Brandon. That would give you pretty good schools and a decent commute, about 20-30 min depending on whether you want to pay a toll. If you are willing to stretch your commute a bit, another 10 to 15 min Valrico has better overall schools, and would be at around the same price range.

If Brandon or Valrico don't work out for you at the higher edge of your 30 minute commute you can get up to Bruce B. Downs and look in the 33647 zip code which is Tampa (but considered New Tampa by most). Depending on your home size there are some very nice subdivisions.
Come a little further North, so commute would get a little longer, and hit the Wesley Chapel, Lutz, Land O Lakes areas and you will find many houses in that price range.
Would recommend taking a quick trip to see both areas. They are both nice, but have a different feel to them. See which one fits you and the family the best! GOOD LUCK!!!

Thanks Gulfer. I now have some more places to compare. I am checking the high schools first & compare, when I arrive at the highest rated H.S I then look at homes in that area.

Thanks again Gulfer & Dunn !!
