Simmer down.

I am simmering down...this is a very big decision we have to make...if it was only my husband and I it would not be a problem but we have 2 kids and don't want to make the wrong decision about moving !! My husband keeps telling me it will be great but I just want to make sure!!!

Thanks for all the information...I really appreciate it all!!

We moved down here a little over 2 years ago from Alaska. Super happy here, things have been great. There will always be a bot of the unknown and there will be challenges. Things will go wrong and within the first two years you may question why you even moved. Just remember, the bad things that happen aren't because of the choice you made... but more just life throwing you challenges.

Whatever you do, do not buy first. Get a rental and live there for a year. That way if the commute in unbearable, it will only have to be dealt with for a year. The next year or so will be a period of transition, it's best to think of it that way. IMO

Great advice ^^^. OP, definitely RENT first, especially if you want to give that commute a try. We are all just trying to be helpful here, and most of us would not want to do that commute, but maybe you won't find it so bad, so try it for yourself. Remember, we all have our own opinions on things. My own husband does not mind commuting for one hour (50 miles) each day to Tampa from Sarasota. Others want to be able to walk to a job.

At any rate, good luck and RELAX! There is a lot to love about living here!
