Greetings all,

Nothing definitive, but an outside chance we might be moving to Tampa. Wondering what nice parts of town in NW Tampa we should be looking at? I've heard Palm Harbor and Safety Harbor are nice? We know NOTHING about the area, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Schools, crime, housing, things to do, etc. Thanks!

Palm Harbor and Safety Harbor are nice but both are just slightly west of NW Tampa. For schools I'd recommend Palm Harbor but it is more of bedroom community so not as much to do, but close enough to areas that have things to do. That area of Palm Harbor is known as East Lake because it is the part of Palm Harbor east of Lake Tarpon. In NW Tampa which would be just east of the East Lake area you should look into WestChase. Very nice area with a lot to do and a lot of different subdivisions in different price ranges. There is also Odessa in NW Tampa which might be another area to consider and there are some nice higher end subdivisions in there with more land.

Sincerely,
Ron

I second Palm Harbor. It's beautiful here, very safe and lots of convenience.

Palm Harbor is good and all, but your commute will be horrible...

How do you know that? They didn't say where they will be working or even if they will have a commute at all. You made quite an assumption.

Quite honestly, we were very disappointed with Westchase. There were way too many not so nice looking parts of it and it's much too close to areas that are less than ideal places to live.

Not sure what your budget is, but maybe you could consider Northdale/Lutz area. There are some lovely subdivisions there such as Cheval.
