This is not just a "new scandal of the week". This scumbag brought down a CIA director!!! The second most powerful man in the U.S., and possibly the world! When was the last time that happened? That's right: NEVER.

Media from around the world have been reporting on this story, and on the Tampa community, and how its residents and politicians enabled this woman and her fraudulent lifestyle. As they should: There are MANY questions to be answered, and many people who have a lot to answer for.
Alright, tell me where is Monica Lewinsky from? ....No one knows unless you look it up. I doubt anyone thinks it has any reflection on Tampa, that would be absurd. Charity embezzlements happen often and everywhere, that it happened in Tampa has more to do with the fact that MacDill AFB is here more than anything else.

I saw the story mentioned on BBC and CBC they didnt really highlight the fact that it was a Tampa problem but just a Florida incident..
Is Tampa in such a fragile state that one mere extramarital affair is going to take it from the op's perceived best place in the world to a seething cauldron of iniquity rivaling Sodom and Gomorrah?
I'd say get over it being in Tampa,no one but the op is taking Tampa to task for an incident that could have happened anywhere.

I dont see how this is a "Florida thing" or a "Tampa thing". Its the story of human nature. No matter where anything took place.

Exactly ^^^. And also, some people don't give a (bleep) about these kinds of things in the news anyway.

I hate to tell you this, but we felt the same when 9-11 happened and all the Al Queida ppl were all over Fort Lauderdale!

On the other hand, think about it this way: WHY do the US Citizens who have "Adult Video" billboard ads and all sorts of porn and crap all over the place even CARE about what these people do? they are people too!

To me, this is nothing more than another distraction created to DISSUADE attention once again from the real problems. Get people GOSSIPING, and they'll forget they don't have health insurance! or food on the table for that matter, and that the gas is still expensive, and that Sam's club on Dale Mabry is price gouging like HELL.

STOP reading this crap, the best way to "educate" this disgusting media is to STOP reading it, and stop reading INTO it. Go see Swan Lake somewhere, it would be refreshing, culturally enriching, and you will fee ten times better after it. Try it.

I also never would have imagined that it would be possible in this country to buy and live in a $1.5 million mansion on Bayshore for free (they haven't paid their mortgage for years), drive expensive cars while being hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt, hob-nob with the nation's 2nd most powerful man (CIA director) while having a FAKE cancer charity, and being appointed a special consul by the State Department while trying to extort $80 million from a CEO.

Pam Iorio, Charlie Crist, Bob Buckhorn, and all of the other political IDIOTS who humored this scumbag's Ponzi scheme should be ashamed of themselves.

I wanted to refrain myself from this but: Do people in Tampa have nothing better to do than to read this crap? I mean, one has an extramarital affair and the town is awake??? seriously? are we that DEAD? If I had $1 for each affair had around Tampa I would buy a Bugatti!

If people are going to refuse to move here because of this dumb thing then I wouldn't want those types of impressionable people living here anyways. We already have enough of those people living down here who decided to move here thinking it was going to be utopia and now hate it when they find out the area has flaws and some scumbags like every other area.

And as for people who wouldn't give Tampa a second thought anyways, we don't need to care about what they think.
