This is an odd request. I just moved here over the summer. I noticed the Christmas Tree tents are already all over the place. We always buy a real tree.
BUT in the past, in our old town, we always bought from a church who made the tree sales their fund raiser. We also supported on occasion a school group. The point being, I would rather the money go to a charitable group, even a religious one, than to, say, Billy Joe Bob Romney's commercial tree syndicate.
Anyone in Tampa know of a charity that sells trees this time of year? So far I have had no luck finding one. THANKS

You can do that if you want to pay more than twice than you should for a tree.

I bought my tree yesterday from Home Depot for $59.99 + tax. For the past 6 years straight, I have bought it from Lowes, but their selection in the size I needed sucked this year. When I asked the attendant about it, he said "come back in 2 weeks, we are getting another truck then"... what the ****??

On my way from Lowes to Home depot, I stopped at one school stand and one church stand, both were over $150 for the size I Wanted (7-8 feet frasier fir)

INteresting, because the church we bought from in the Sarasota area had the best prices, or at least nothing as expensive as you mentioned. I looked all over, I was not able to find anything other than Sickles High School in Tampa listed, and that was in a Pasco mag advert, not online.
I am not sure if I want to pay twice as much, but I prefer the profit to go to a non-profit (or even a prophet's profit) instead of Lowe's Profit....
