The argument originated about USF raising tuition on their students to pay their football coach.

That's where the problem came from.

It's $10 per semester. A student graduating in 4 years stands to pay only $80 during the course of their studies. I fail to see how this qualifies as being "very high"...

If any fee is outrageous it is parking at USF....

Tis true; however, by comparison to the $200 per credit hour ($6,000 per semester) in tuition that $10 seems pretty trivial and hardly worth noting. I'd also point out that when polled the USF students overwhelmingly supported both the athletic fee and the green energy fees they are being assessed..

Yes, it's called Professional Football or NFL.

Schools like UF generate around $100 million NET revenue per year.

If you can figure out a way to profit that much money a year for the University, I'm sure they'd be all over the idea.

One thing I forgot to add, don't forget the economic impact of a college football program to the city where the games are played. Hotels, restaurants, gas, groceries, attractions, etc. It's huge.

That depends on the school. Not many people are traveling to Tampa to see a USF game.

Give it time. At one time or another, ALL college football programs are where USF is right now. A good coach, and I think Skip Holtz did a lot for them, can generate a lot of money and fandom for schools.

I'm a South Carolina Gamecock and honestly I had not really even heard of USF until the last decade and I'm a huge college football fan.
