And the point is?

Better not go to another paradise known as Hawaii either:

Police investigating Hilo murder | West Hawaii Today, Kailua-Kona, Hawaii

Come to think of it, I can't think of any city that does not have crime......can you?

What was your point again?

Come to Baltimore/DC where I live for the next few days. My husband turned on the news yesterday, looked over at me, and said, "oh let's see how many homicides there were last night here." It's terrible. Last year two people were shot and killed at the mall right up the road from me and we are in a "safe" area. Multiple murders daily.

While I don't check the crime rates of many places, except where I consider living, I wonder if it is getting worse or if we just notice it more from the 24/7 news cycle. Fear and sensationalism sells, happy stories don't.

There's plenty of crime in the area - I usually hear about Bradenton's crime more though since I live closeby. Usually every week something is going on down there.

It is demonstrably this.

The hard stats bear it out.

Ya, that's kind of the way I was leaning.

Yeah, so a known criminal with a BB gun went ballistic.
Big deal, eh?

My cousin lived in Hawaii with her ex-husband, and according to her the island consists of tourists and meth addicts.
