"Tampa Bay is relatively wise with tax payers money. Money is not as easily wasted here as other places."

If you mean Hillsborough County, amen to that!

I don't think people appreciate how well run Hillsborough County really is. No, it's not perfect, no government entity is, but I have to say, having lived in other places, Hillsborough is pretty darned good.
Good services for the residents, without breaking the bank.

The abundant sunshine and foliage. Although.... the weather lately has been gloomy. This is what summer used to be like where I came from. Go figure.

1) I will never have to deal with driving in snow/ice storms.
2) I will never have to shovel snow.
3) I will never have to winterize my house (turn off water to the outside faucets so they don't freeze, etc.)
4) The weather has been simply amazing.
5) My housing costs are 40% of what they were where I came from.
6) My overall cost of living is significantly lower.
7) The whole atmosphere is low-key and my stress level is greatly diminished.
8) I love to fish, and being this much closer to the action is a major plus.
9) It already feels like home.
10) I moved here for a job promotion and a significant salary increase, so everything I listed already is just an added bonus.

When I see advertisement selling "tropical paradise vacation" with picture of beautiful beaches that looks like Clearwater Beach or Ft Desoto Beach practically in my back yard and I'm like "meh, whatever". I guess I'm already living in paradise then.

Good point. I used to spend thousands of dollars each year to get to a beach, water and sun. I vacation a lot less now because my weekends are like mini vacations at a fraction of the cost and travel time.
