Just a question- why are we so congested lately- alot of tourists are back this year with no threat of oil spills? The CC Causeway is aful these days. 2nd If you read this please- when you are waiting on the light to turn, move up-- I find people to sit back three cars away from the first car and in the end someone could get in that line if they moved up a bit, and 2nd DO not block other cross streets- how much thinking on your part to know your lane is NOT going to make it before the light turns red and now you are in the middle of the street blocking every one going in the other direction! who said I am stressed! I am bout ready to move into our office parking lot, with a winnebago!

I hear you. The drivers here are awful. Mostly NY/NJ drivers I'm pretty sure. I see the same type of driving up there. That's about the only fault I can find with this area.

I don't know.....this area seems to have a lot more people from Ohio, Michigan, Illinios, other mid-western states, and states in the southeast......

When I moved here in 87'.....New York/New Jersey was a little more prevalent- but this area has always been more mid-western

The east coast of Florida is where most of the New York/New Jersey transplants are.

Also, the giant, jacked up trucks with confederate flag license plates tailgating 3 inches from the back of everyone @ 60 mph don't seem like people from New York/New Jersey........

The 5' 2" soccer moms in thier 7000lb suv's going 70mph on thier phones (who double park everywhere they go) with southern accents (bigger is better ya'all) don't seem like New Yorkers or New Jersians

I've lived both here and New Jersey......and in my opinion- the drivers (and driving/road conditions) are better up there than down here......

Also- there is much more traffic enforcement up there than here......which tends to "curb" aggresive/reckless driving.

Seriously? I couldn't disagree more. I took the auto train part of the way north to visit family in Connecticut a few years ago. It only goes as far as Lorton, VA and so you have to drive the rest of the way. A real white-knuckle, silent scream experience for me, although I have to say the Jersey stretch was definitely better than the states below and above. Why is that, I wonder?

The problem is, after living in this part of Florida for a while, you get used to the wider roads and the roadways in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic seem so freakin' narrow, I felt like I was playing bumper cars and prided myself on getting through unscathed.

True, they seem more like people born in your vivid imagination.

I got my first DL at 16 in NJ!! lol-- but really learned to drive in Panama... Hubby was stationed there and there were 8 cars on a 2 car lane at the same time,, talk about bumper cars,,, lol.. made it 4 yrs with out incident, but then a motorcycle course really helps you drive more defensively..

Panama? I have never lived south of the border, but some of my friends who have, tell me that anything goes on the roads in most of the countries down there. I'd never survive it. I was told that Caracas was the worst. Pull up to an intersection, look both ways, cross yourself, step on the gas and hope you make it through, lol.

Agree with you for the most part...I think drivers down here have their heads in the clouds (or someplace else)! Also agree because I75 heads right down to the west coast we have a greater number of Michigan etc transplants...east coast of Florida gets the north-easterners!
