To 7.6%. It's nice to see the improvement taking place here and to know the jobs picture here is better than the U.S. as a whole.

Pinellas unemployment down 2.2 percent : Pinellas County - Tampa Bay Newspapers

"“Trends show that we are also experiencing growth in many different economic indicators that are key to job creation,” he said. “Housing starts are on the rise, businesses and families continue to move to Florida and more jobs are being created. The changes we are making to improve our state’s business climate are helping Florida families pursue the American dream.”

Probably about the same percentage as most other places in the country.

I would assume that Florida is still a bit behind the rest of the country in terms of unemployment. So I doubt it.

For example, there are 227 metropolitan areas with an unemployment rate of less than 7.6%

Florida and Pinellas County are not the same thing.

Please provide government backed numbers showing that Pinellas County has a higher percentage of people who dropped out of the job market and took part time jobs than the average of the U.S.

Remember, Pinellas County having achieved a lower unemployment rate than the U.S. is what the thread is about. Not about Florida overall or about selected U.S. metros.

Apples to Apples.

The same thing would apply in the U.S. numbers, so that is already baked into the cake. We are still below the U.S. rate, putting us in a better position and making our local market a little better than it was. Again, going in the right direction.

More people like you should move to Florida. That place seems to have made a complete turn around since your arrival. In the ten years i lived down there i never heard such good news. Thats fantastic. Now it should be a lot more enjoyable for the people moving there.
