Yeah, I don't want to live in those communities at all for that reason specifically...I simply HAVE to have other kids where ever I end up...my kids need to be able to make friends and be able to play outside with the other neighborhood children...

This would be tough to find...because most everyone works, so all the kids are in some daycare somewhere...and to find a community that actually has kids roaming around it a stretch...usually those who are within the immediate area of an elementary school might have that...but the way some subdivisions are built, you may be in the cul de sac with all the 55+....which is SUPER annoying! (no offense to that crowd).
But it is annoying for us as we to want our kids to play with other kids...it took us a long time to find one of these places! stay away from Cheval...it is THE SNOTTIEST enclave ever!

Yeah, we lived there 5 years and it was very annoying. Stay at home moms would only come out to trick or treat and that was IT!

I haven't been through this whole thread so this suggestion may have already been made, but what about Safety Harbor? It's a great locale … I can get to the Citrus Park area of Tampa in 10 minutes and the Westshore area in under 20. Clearwater Beach and Honeymoon Island are about 20 minutes away. Tampa Bay is right at your doorstep … it doesn't have a nice beach, but the water is there and it is beautiful. Safety Harbor also has good schools. It's an awesome family-friendly community … upscale and educated without being pretentious. I've lived in lots of places in the Tampa Bay area and Safety Harbor is definitely one of my favorites.
