Currently living in Seffner. Lease is up this summer and we NEED a larger home. We have three children; 4, 2, 1/2 yrs old. Was hoping to be able to send my daughters to private but with my husband as a full time student in the pre-med program and myself being a stay at home mom I just don't see that working out :$ I would say our price range is up to $1800.

So, he's looking for a minimally painful commute to and from campus (for the next 7 years) and I need great public elementary schools choices. I never do anything in main Tampa, so commute past USF wouldn't matter. Also, young family communities would be lovely as my children are always outside looking for playmates. Our current neighborhood is totally slacking in that aspect!

I would say for a painless commute to USF (hence less money spent on gas), New Tampa, or Wesley Chapel would be your best bet. They have good schools there, and there are a lot of young families there too. Lots of shopping too...

Agree with the New Tampa, Wesley Chapel comment regarding commute to USF. I spent a lot of time in the Panther Trace Community in Riverview and was extremely impressed with it. The layout of that master planned community, the schools right there in the community, huge community center with a huge pool, kids rode thier bikes to school, etc... Wouldn't be terrible for the hubby to go to school as classes would not always start with the 9-5 commute.
