It is amazing how a change in laws have had an effect on nature.

In a time period ending June 2013 there were 1,085 sinkhole claims in Hernando County

The laws regarding sinkholes changed 2011 when the state made it harder for people to collect on sinkholes and not fix them. Also Citizens Insurance raised sinkhole coverage premiums significantly.

In 2014 271 sinkhole claims were made in the same period ending June 30 in 2014.

I guess if laws change nature pays attention? Let's change more laws and see if we can reverse other natural afflictions.

Rainfall amounts also play a part.
