I'll be in Tampa for the first time in a couple of weeks looking at apartments. I've pretty much decided on South Tampa and I want to check out a few apartment communities that happen to be north of Gandy. (It seems from the research I've done I'd be crazy to move south of Gandy?) What's the division really like? Is the neighborhood difference extremely obvious once you cross this notorious street? A few of the places I plan on looking at are just a few streets north of Gandy, so do I need to look even further north for safety reasons?

The prices change a lot, so do the houses. Depeding on how far west you are, is really north of Euclid. It boils down to Plant HS boundaries, they would give you an indication, not to say the other areas are horrible, but if you are west of himes, south of euclid to north of interbay are pretty similar.

Yeah I would suggest to stay north of Euclid. I am one experience but I lived in the Cove apartments off Westshore which is south of Euclid but north of Gandy. Had a random break in while was out of town in the so called Gated community. I had just moved from Miami which I never had issues. Bad taste for me. No South Tampa for me..... Further North towards Carrolwood.

Dont think carrolwood is that much "safer" breakins happen frequently there as well.

The 'security' at the cove is beyond WORTHLESS.
