I will be moving to the Tampa Bay/ St. Petersburg area once I graduate in May from school (age 22) and I was wondering if anyone could give me any insight into some good apartment complexes for young professionals to live in. I would like to be in a place where most of my neighbors are young (in 20s) and preferrably a place relatively close to the bars. I will be working in St. Petersburg, so I don't want to live too far in east Tampa. I have heard Milennium apartments in Tampa are nice, as well as Fusion 1560 in St. Pete's. Can anyone give me additional information about these two complexes or any other complexes that might be better in terms of a young age demographic and relatively closeness to bars and nightlife. Thanks!

And I'm moving to Tampa from Alabama, fwiw

I would check around downtown St. Pete. There is a collage campus there and a decent bar / party district. There are some apt building around as well as private rentals

You should first decide which bar scene you prefer: South Tampa or St. Pete.

What would you say are the main differences in the bar scenes? I'm new to the area, don't know anybody down there. Just accepted a job offer coming out of college

SoHo in south tampa. Any apt in this area is walkable to all the bars on south howard, which is the central party distrcit in tampa. Post Hyde Park and Madison SoHo are the main complexes. I believe Madison is now condo but you can find rentals from owners on craigslist. Both are very expensive, 1 bdrms for over 1200 but they have pools with very scenic weekend festivities. Otherwise any other kind of apt in the area would work if you just want to be close to the bars. Dont know much about the downtown st pete scene, but thats your other option. The party scene on Howard is basically out of control on weekends. U will see all walks of life but basically very drunk frat type guys and half naked girls down for anything. Its not high end or classy, but its the best tampa has and is certainly entertaining, for awhile.
