I lived in Sarasota and Englewood for a while. Moved back to NE for career reasons. Considering spending a summer in Alaska after retirement then heading south. The kids were not in school yet the first time so not a consideration. Now it is huge. I'm partial to the Gulf Coast. Both kids are big into hockey. Any high schools in the Tampa Bay ara with hockey teams. Also daughter is an aspiring performer. Are there any performing arts high schools such as the G star school in West Palm? Thanks much

Hockey is growing fast down here. When I first moved here in 92 at 13 there was nothing, now if you want to play you can. There are two rinks in the area, one in Brandon and Oldsmar. Only high schools with enough interest have teams and they arent recognized by FHSAA so they are just club teams. Looking at the standings on the websites here are the schools with teams.

Jenkins
Bloomingdale
Durant
Freedom
Wiregrass
Wharton
Springstead
Riverridge
Palm Harbor
Mitchell
Gaither
Sickles
Steinbrenner
Eastlake
Dunedin
Tarpon Springs

Thanks for the info. So all the teams listed are clubs? I'm guessing some of these must be private schools since I've never heard of them

I'm really in a quandry as far as where to retire. I'm going to spend a few months up in Alaska then it's either Florida, or East Tennessee. Lots of pros and cons. Must remember I will have the ability to travel. Just need a base camp. One child will still just entering high school so that is a big factor.
