Luckily this will be a thing of the past soon.

But I still do agree with a ban on texting, as you cannot drink and drive either. When one is operating dangerous vehicles, certain rules need apply. I completely understand and agree with the slippery slop thing, but I don't think that applies here.

Just my opinion though.

Listen, we don't need another law. There is already one that covers this. It's called Reckless Driving. If you're swerving because you're on your cell, you'll get a ticket. Why do we need to pass more and more laws? How many more laws do we need? Stop the nanny state.

Agree to disagree...

It's obvious that I'm not FOR dangerous conditions on the roadways, but I'm also not for laws that lead to laws that restrict me from my freedoms. I have no problem with a texting law so long as it doesn't include language that can be interpreted or twisted to take away even MORE freedoms.

Agreed!

This would be key, as we are all too familiar with unintended consequences.......and worse yet, sometimes intended consequences.

I would just make people re- test to show hem HOW they drive,, maybe a virtual test of some sort,,, still say the motorcycle course is the best to teach people to drive, but alas all the bad habits they pick up.
