Better than not having a job at all.

But that's about it. Rough commute.

1hr - 1.5 hrs, most major cities have that commute for its suburban workforce if not longer. I have many friends who are 1.5 hr - 2 hr in DC and thats slugging it. 1 hr with no traffic whatsoever and be employed, its a crappy change from what he has been doing but better then the plant closing and being laid off.

I spoke with a friend up in DC yesterday who is happy they are relocating his office again and it will change his shorten his commute by 1hr making it 1.5hrs each each way now.

Honestly, if it weren't for the commute I would move to DC in a heartbeat but I can do 45 minutes, even an hour if the house and neighborhood is right and its not bumper to bumper just distance but 1.5hr+ stop and go, forget it.

I commuted from Palm Harbor to Maitland for 1 year. On bad days, the return trip would be 2.5 + hours. Looking back, I should have stayed in a motel during the week

Thanks for the replies! We have a few months so hopefully it will all work out. Not sure how much it would cost to rent a place over there for weekdays if needed. A few of his coworkers live near us and maybe they can carpool or go in on a place. I really do not want him to relocate, but it is better than being unemployed.
