Dana Shores is a flood zone with tiny strips of land and homes built on it. The exact type of place that should be uninsurable. "IF" it has been dry there, they will eventually get plenty.....and I mean plenty.....of water. Some much so that you won't be able to see the rooftops.

Thanks - I misread CHASL's post. My error.

BTW, I like CHASL and his weather posts. Please don't abuse him/her.

The weather dude on myfox in the morning was saying April is traditionally a dry month for us. Honestly, I would like some rain. But this dry weather is not having any sort of impact on my life at this moment.

I would like more rain so that I don't have to go out and water the flowers. I planted drought resistant flowers but they still begin to droop. Bring on the rain!

I don't think so. I lived there from 1963 till 04 then back about 2 years ago. Our house never flooded in all the 40+ years i lived there. All the rain in the world will do nothing to flood Danashores since it would run off into the canals.

This was the worst it ever got during the hurricane of Sept 85, that was water being pushed up the storm drains from the canals from a very high tide.

Now a CAT 3 or more would take Danashores out from a surge.

Since you closely watch weather I thought you would keep your record in excel or something so we can look at how your area is statistically different from the Tampa Bay region. Then we can see how strange is your location for a long time not getting any rain as you claim. That would be interesting. Summer convective rain is known to have less spatial coverage at one time, you get a rain here and somebody in a mile may not. But it does balance out over a course of a year. I don't believe that you have a "dry hole" there in Pasco County that is consistently well below the regional average year after year. That's all I am saying. I could be wrong but we need to see the data to know for sure.
Whatever floats your boat jack. I could post up every month if i wanted to take the time and post a pic of every month i have lived in west Pasco since 04. What you saw in that one pic is how most summer months have been, DRY! Ya, once in a while it snows in July and get a month of above normal rain like i did last June when i had over 21" total for the month.

The hurricane is what I was thinking of (surge) when I posted what I did. Not so much rain.

I learned pretty quickly that most of his posts are disturbingly cheerleader-esque, which is why he was promptly added to my ignore list.
