I am moving with my fiancee to the Tampa area because we are sick of the weather. We want to know where a suburban area is. We wouldn't mind driving to work for a half hour or so but we are looking for primarily white neighborhood's that are safe as we both grew up in the Williamsville/Clarence New York area. Any help or input would be greatly appreciated. Also my family has a condo in St.Armands Sarasota and I absolutely love it there but I don't make that much money so it is not an option. Thank you in advance.

If you were to place a Dot in the Center of the City of Tampa and drew an Arc from the Northwest all the way through the extreme SouthEast after about 7-10 miles, you will be in suburbs. It may sound crazy, but it's true. There are some pockets of buildup around Carrollwood and Brandon ... but you get away from the dowtown and the congestion of the inner city, it opens up into suburbs all over the place.
