Exactly and from that debacle I was watching a documentary about it and it was found that clean diesel bus network that services all of a metro area is much more realistic.

Well everyone kept saying if it's such a great project let the private sector developer. Well after Florida rejected the money a private developer moved to build the leg from Miami to Orlando and operate themselves. Apparently there may have been money to be made there. Companies like Siemens don't line up to invest billions to lose money nor do I think this new company is in the business of losing money.

How many know that there is already train service between Tampa and Orlando? It takes less than 2 hours and costs $12.

Want to increase frequency? Add another train.

That's a heck of a lot cheaper than $69 billion, but you'll never convince those that want to spend other people's money.

I hope it is successful! I am glad to see the private companies jump in and do this. They will be much more aware of costs to be able this work. When Government gets involved they end up having too much overhead and they don't watch costs as well.

I used to take that train from Tampa to Kissimmee and because of budget cuts, there hasn't been a train in a few weeks. They've substituted a bus service for the train.

What does a metro bus network have to do with a state rail system?

Just because California is screwing it up doesn't necessarily mean the same would have happened in Florida. I wouldn't hold it past them, but I think that is a valid point. The reason these costs are going up is due to corruption and those involved seeing nothing but ($)($) at the chance to get involved.
