I am not sure is anyone is interested in this, but FDOT is holding a public presentation meeting for one of their projects - SR 54 widening from Curley Rd to Morris Bridge Rd. It's scheduled for tomorrow, May 9, 2013 from 5 pm to 7 pm at Atonement Lutheran Church (29617 SR 54, Wesley Chapel).
There will be no formal presentations, but display boards will be avail. for public view and imput.

I am not familiar with this project, but it's close to the area I live in, so I would like to learn what's going on with SR 54.

Just checked FDOT web site and according to 5 year work program the letting date for this project is in July 2015, which is just around the corner.

I drove up there for the first time in a while the other day. Are they keeping the old 2-lane highway open while they work on the new highway? It looked that way to me, at least for part of the route. I only drove between Meadow Pointe and Curlew.

I had to miss yesterday's meeting couldn't make it
If anyone went there, please share your thoughts? Are they going for Right of Way acquisition?

tinalimey,
I am not sure how FDOT proposed design looks like, but during the constraction all traffic will be maintain. Since letting date for this project is in 2015, I don't think we are going to see any construction going on there for another few years. Not sure if construction as well as ROW is going to be funded.
