story about unfortunate Brandon lady getting hit by lightning has given me the heebie-geebies about being anywhere near lightning.......yesterday we had some in our area, and I was moving pretty quickly into and out of the car/house, etc.

Some parts of the Tampa Bay area picked up 3-4 inches of rain yesterday. For your Sunday, we will not have quite as much t-storm activity. Though, there is still a 40% chance for afternoon thunderstorms. The better chance to see rain will exist slightly inland. High temperature today near 90 degrees. In the Gulf of Mexico, water temperatures are around 80 degrees, southerly winds at 10 kts, and a light chop.

Similar forecast for Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday with a 40% chance for afternoon storms and high temperatures in the upper 80s.

We are also watching the remnants of the Pacific storm, Barbara, and an area of storms off the Yucatan, for the possibility that they could join and bring us some rain later this week. At this point, no tropical activity is expected, but the chance does exist for rain from these systems in the Thursday time frame.
