Hello everyone,

My family (Wife and I, plus 2 children 8 and 6) and I are currently looking to move to Tampa, I will be transferring with my current job, there seem to be many areas to chose from, but would like to here from you all. Mainly which areas are great, schools shopping and entertainment are interests we have. We will be travelling at the end of this month to Tampa to check out areas mentioned here. We have a housing budget of $1200, hopefully for 3+ bedrooms lol. In a later post I will add the areas where I can transfer to, but for now would like info you all can offer to make this trip a little easier. Thanks to all in advance!!

Search the forum. You'll find answers to all of your questions, as they have been asked a million times before.

$1200 for three bedroom apartment, maybe, but not a house unless it's in a sketchy area.

Thanks I appreciate the reply but I have "read and searched the forum" many times. This is the reason why I asked my questions, I don't assume everyone else here works for AT&T, anyone from att get their questions answered here? I mean assuming AT&T Uverse is in all of Tampa which I doubt, that is the reason I ask. Since I will be transferring, I thought I would ask my questions as well.

Most of the Tampa area is Verizon country. Where I am in Hernando County is AT&T territory. U-Verse isn't available for me. I doubt it will ever be.

Thanks HWTECHGUY, is it available in Orlando and surrounding areas? Tampa is where we were currently looking to move but we are also willing to move north of tampa if need be. Thanks again.

While I am not 100% sure, I believe there are areas near Orlando that are serviced by AT&T. I recall at one of my customer sites seeing AT&T on the demarc in the electrical room.

As I had mentioned Hernando County is serviced by AT&T. From where I am it's about 40 miles to Tampa.

In order to better address your questions, where will you be working in Tampa? Tampa is a large area, and knowing where you need to be will have a lot to do with where you live.

That is going to have a lot to do with what you're going to get in the way of recommendations.

And no, UVerse is not available in the Tampa area. Pretty much Verizon FIOS and Brighthouse, or DISH if one wants to go that route. Based on coverage maps on DSLReports it looks like UVerse is limited to Orlando, the east coast of Florida, and south Florida.

Disagree. You can still get a 3BR for $1200 in decent areas.
