If you read the threads, it seems a lot of people seem to be unaware that the southern part of the U.S. gets hot in the summer. What argument?

It would be interesting to know the true numbers.
You could do a poll in the Florida thread, that way you would get input from the state as a whole. I'd be interested to see the numbers as well.

Not that easy. Sure, today is beautiful, but it gets cold at night there and the winters are much colder than here.

There's a psychological therapy by Ellis who recommends that if you hate/dislike something so much that you think/say just the opposite to make yourself feel better about the situation you're in. I think this is the case when people are saying how much they like the blistering heat during the Summer.

"Blistering" heat? Not even close to where I have lived before, but I am sure too hot for some.....not me though.

But I see how some people look at things, as pointed out in your post. If it is different, then the other person must be wrong. It is not possible for different people to like different weather conditions...........according to some.

The Jews in the concentration camps in Germany were starving - so hungry - but in order to survive, the told themselves how satiated they were. They couldn't eat even if the guards gave them food. For some it worked.

Yep, the placebo effect. The power of brain can not be overstated.
