Does it mean we will have to pay taxes for all amazon orders after their distribution center is open?

It certainly does.

By law, you're supposed to pay sales taxes to Florida on most internet purchases. You get a form off the myflorida site and send it in with the amount you owe. I do this quarterly. It's on the "honor" system.

The difference, with having Amazon in Florida, is that Amazon will now do the collection and remittance to the state for you. And I'm sure that's part of the reason Florida wants Amazon.

This is the part I never quite get, though. Sort of along the lines of funding stadiums for millionaire owners of sports teams and that sort of thing. Who benefits?
Employees pay taxes (sales, real estate), they buy stuff (cars, homes, consumer goods), there's a beneficial economic multiplier-effect for our local economy. Providing incentives for businesses to set up shop here is good for our economy and worth the investment of tax breaks, imo.

Technically you have to pay taxes now anyway. In the future, Amazon will collect them from you on behalf of the state.

Wonder when that would go into effect, BTW?
