I play a lot of tennis, but I'm down in S. Hillsborough County - but I have a recommendation if you want to get into finding some partners, give the Tampa Tennis a chance - recently I would drop in on their Wednesday night clinics and they have some excellent pros to put you through drills and help your game - works also on your stamina - a good way to meet players of your ability as well. I don't think the drive is that far from Westchase - there is a cost to the clinics (beginners on Saturdays, I think), but I think it is well worth it.

I can't help with recommendations in the area but I HIGHLY recommend trying out a clinic. I did that on and off for quite a while. It is a fantastic workout and it also helps your skillset or to finetune something you want to work on. And you might find someone interested in playing outside of the clinics too.

LOL, occasionally I can claim I have a great mind

Thinking about it, I want to do that again (clinics). I had so much fun and learned alot.

I even went to a Nike Tennis Camp for a weekend at a college campus one summer. That was awesome but I learned you can't do the scene both at night and get up at 6:00 a.m. for drills. Not at my age anyway....

I'm looking at a 5 hr clinic at Saddlebrook ($150) - pretty hot time of year, but my game needs some help.

That's not a bad price and I like the idea of a longer clinic (the ones I did weekly were 90 minutes). What kind of instructors? The place I went had one pro on staff and others were former college tennis players. I really liked playing on the clay. Never played on grass though.

I hope they have a pool nearby after you play, lol.

True - but if you live here, you've got to acclimate and adapt.
