We could use less accidents!! I can't drive one freakin day without seeing at least 2 idiotic accidents. I have almost gotten into more very serious accidents in the two years i have lived than the 18 years of living in the midwest. These people are crazy drivers here!

Thanks Jammie! I guess you can see that I don't check back here too often, lol! The move to Huntsville was a good move. It's beautiful here with the mountains and the river. Not much to do activity wise unless you're into outdoorsy stuff (which we are!), but Birmingham, Nashville, and Atlanta aren't too far away. The beautiful beaches are close enough that you can hit them occasionally on the weekend (5-6 hr drive). Well, you COULD anyway before the oil spill. As with any other place, there's good and bad, but the good definitely outweighs the bad.
My son hates it here, but is planning on moving back to Rapid City when he finishes college (and to Cali. a few months after that!)

Funny, but our highest electric bill in Rapid City, SD, (in the dead of winter) was never as expensive as my electric bill in St. Pete, regardless of which apartment complex I lived in. This place just plain SUCKS...Well compared to So Cal... I mean Really! The SMOKING is just OUT OF CONTROL!!! WTF! Every dork, retard and lowlife smokes here!!! OMG! And the driving is just as bad! WOW!! I have never seen so many "Bassackwards" people in my life! Hick is an understatement... Not what it once was...
I could not agree more with the OP! I was born at St. Joseph's hospital and lived here for 37 years. My husband is 4th generation Tampa native. I cannot tell you what a wonderful childhood I had here (Lake Magdalene area in N. Tampa). It was a great place to grow up.
Fastforward to now....I CANNOT WAIT TO GET OUT!! It's so disappointing what Tampa has become. We are spending the fall looking at various cities in S & N Carolina b/c I cannot stand the thought of raising my 3 children in this environment. I know no place is perfect, but it has to be better than this.

My son hates it here, but is planning on moving back to Rapid City when he finishes college (and to Cali. a few months after that!) 
Sorry you don't like it there. At one time we had considered moving there, but there are just too many negatives. Of course the beaches are nice and the weather is warm, but there are just too many other things that aren't appealing.
