My husband, myself and our 4 year old would like to relocate to the Tampa area in November. We are from Illinois and currently have family in the Cocoa/Titisville area which is about 2 hours from Tampa. I am having trouble finding info on where to move that is family friendly and affordable. The reason we would like to relocate is the job market however we have a savings but no jobs lined up yet so Im not sure where to start our search. We have no help from family regarding the area as they are not familiar with Tampa and I dont want to base our move solely on apartment reviews. We plan to travel to Tampa hopefully in September to check out the jobs and housing. I have viewed several other websites but I am a little confused by the New Tampa, West Tampa, etc. Any help or guidance on where to start would be great. We are hoping to find a small 2 bedroom to start around 7-850 per month, right now we live in the city and would like to find something similar to a downtown type atmosphere.

Our down town so just starting, housing there is nil... a 2 bedroom for $850 there are places but you really need to find a good location. Where you work is most important, as to where you will live, traffic is the pits depending of when n where you must travel during rush hours. best look at jobs, then seek housing. Clearwater is cheaper, but I got tired of the drive.
