Hi,

We're moving somewhere in the St. Pete (maybe old NE) area this January and need some (part time) preschool recommendations for our almost 3 year old. He is currently in a Spanish immersion daycare with an emphasis on healthy organic food that is staffed with the sweetest nurturing staff so our bar is set pretty high. While Spanish speaking and organic is a plus, it's not necessary. What is important to me is healthy food and a nurturing environment. We're open to anything. What about Canterbury school?

Thanks!!!

As a teacher, I have been there to observe their entire school. While I can't speak from the perspective of one who has had a child in the program, I can tell you they have a rock-solid program educationally and developmentally speaking.

I emailed Shorecrest, and nutrition is not a priority, but it doesn't seem to be a priority any where in florida. Anybody know anything about spanish immersion schools?

If nutrition is a priority you can send your child in with a lunch with your choices. Most of the preschoolers there bring have a home lunch.

Hi, we decided on Canterbury. You have to pack lunches, but there are no other options in the area. It seems like a great school with a nice warm community feel, and they let him attend part time. That was important to us. We are also disappointed that we couldn't find Spanish immersion, but they do offer a little Spanish and Mandarin. Have you found anything?

Any other schools besides Shorecrest and Canterbury that were on your short list? We have a newborn and figure we don't have long to get on a wait list for pre-k if we decide where we want our kid to go long term since typically you have to get started right at pre-k or wait years on a wait list to get in.
