DOVER --
A former Hillsborough County high school teacher has been charged with possessing child pornography.

According to partner newspaper the Tampa Bay Times, 33-year-old Carlos Marcell Dixon was arrested Saturday.

Hillsborough schools spokesman Steve Hegarty said Dixon resigned from his physical education teacher position at Strawberry Crest High School in April.

Dixon bonded out of jail on Sunday.

yep, and many more that don't always make news, laws too lenient- we do NOT protect the children enough. This area specially POLK is haven for human trafficking and smuggling specially of minors, for sex. ,, most end up on video/ picts etc.

I'd need to know a little more info before I pass judgement. How old was the "victim" in this video/photos? Did he film it himself or was it just on his computer? In all my years of porn surfing, I could have very well clicked on some youngins by accident.

How would anyone know what actually took place. Then it's a single count on top of that. How do we know if the "victim" sent it to him or not? Then to go so far as to say this man deserves to go to hell is senseless. What about liars, and idolaters, and blasphemers. Everyone has lied before. What makes them any different. And how do you know if this young man just had bad judgement in this situation. These young girls of today don't care and most times provoke the person who they prey upon. How can a teenage girl be a victim if she does that?

How do you mean? I think it's pretty good pick up to discover this guy -sounds like every day the police-force is weeding out bad people.

Florida has a very good system for identifying these people. I get emails all the time whenever a convict moves within 10 miles of my home.

The reason why children are being exploited is because people want to see it. Is there a difference between the people who exploit the children and those that watch it from their living room?

I say no. So before you cast judgement on this guy, have you looked at porn on the internet? Very good chance the pictures your looking at are of girls under 18.

Because as adults we are supposed to protect children, even those that dont know how to protect themselves yet by doing destructive things.

You talk about girls today, kids have always pushed the limits but adults should be there to correct and teach.

I wont go into detail except before an arrest is made, there is enough EVIDENCE for this type of arrest that there is a perpetrator on the loose. Can an investigation come up false, by an accusation from a minor yes, some times kids lie and and get even for some other issue. That is why there is an investigation- and in a school?? would you not want LEOS to protect your kid? The PC/ camera etc doesn't lie. The puppetteer was a church going guy- who recently got 20 yrs for wanting to eat the children, and at first all defended him bla bla- and when more and more evidence became public-did people realize WHY he was a menance to society. A browse through porn specially from O/S will infact produce minors, but to download, chat or share pictures is another matter buddy. It is obvious you care little about children.,, but some of us do, and will protect & defend 24-7.

Obviously, u don't get it. Everyone that is accused of something doesn't mean that they are guilty. However some of what you say may be true. This story was very vague in detail and if you look at the arrest report like I did, obviously there was only one picture according to the charge. How can were say weather it was a video or a picture. How can we say if it was downloaded or sent to or by him.... How do we know the character of this young man? Are you a Christian? If you are then maybe you should be reminded of something....Matthew 7

So before you go trying to put everyone in the same category then you should consider that each individual is different and something's maybe similar but not always the same
