If home prices are any indication, most are for sale between 30K and 50K. I see some below and a few above.

Recommend going to zillow and punch in that address. It allows you to do a 'Birds Eye View' and also a street view. Click the buttons and move around the streets to see what other places look like.

I am not very familiar with that area and am overly cautious by nature, plus I like much more open space. I wouldn't want to raise three girls there.

If I was in my early 20's with no kids, maybe I would feel different.

+2. Not a nice area. Ybor in general is nice-ish to visit during the day...and drunken party scene at night. 2 blocks from Ybor is not nice-ish during the day.

Nothing good happens along Nebraska Ave (or vicinity), especially after hours......

I dont think its that bad, but it is as bad it gets in Tampa (College Hills or Sulphur Springs depending on who you ask), I mean that address is pretty much College Hills, you would need to be south of i-4 to be in the somewhat gentrified or trying to get gentrified part of Ybor, anywhere between 12th ave and 4th ave.

If thats the price range you need to be at, then I guess there are worse places but if you can swing $500+ then look elsewhere. You can probably find something in the st Joseph's hospital area, or in West Tampa for around $500 like an efficiency you would be a lot better off, below that price point I am thinking is slim pickings. Anyway good luck.

It is nice that you can see a street view with Zillow, same as with google maps.
Be very ,very cautious with that area.

That is NOT a good area - believe me you don't want to live there. Places are cheap for a reason! Better than zillow, go to google maps and put in the address, the street doesn't look too bad, but believe me I used to own rental property near there and it is NOT what I would call a safe place to live. It's right off Nebraska Ave. for one thing which is one of the worst streets in Tampa, especially down on that end.

ETA: That neighborhood is V.M Ybor, and I was googling info on it and apparently there is a large cluster of sex offenders living there. Need I say more? Here is the article from last year:
